After working for the advertising agency Daiko, he moved to Tokyo in 1965 and joined Delta Mondo, where he worked mainly in men's fashion. He received APA, ADC, and other awards in the 1960s, and after learning about the Woodstock concert in 1969, he became interested in subcultures and traveled to New York and London to photograph them. His work in advertising, music, and film has led him to where he is today.
In 2009, he participated in the "Who shot Rock&Roll" exhibition at the Brooklyn Museum, and in 2012, "BOWIE×SUKITA Speed of Life," a collection of his 40 years of photographs of David Bowie, was released by Genesis Publishing in the UK. BOWIE×SUKITA Speed of Life" was released from Genesis Publishing in the U.K.
He has participated in the exhibition "David Bowie Is" organized by the Victoria and Albert Museum since 2013. He is currently on a world tour of the "David Bowie Photo Exhibition" as an individual.
